The Golspie 3 Peaks Challenge is a fun event where participants complete a hike, run or bike and hike challenge around 3 of the highest peaks surrounding the village of Golspie in the Scottish Highlands. Ben Horn, Ben Bhraggie and Silver Rock.
The event is open to all and is organised and run as a fundraiser for Golspie Rowing Club.
Our event timings for Saturday 1st June 2024 are:
- 8am onwards – Registration and bacon roll breakfast at Golspie Seafront Centre
- 10am – Route briefing for all participants
- 10:30am – Challenge begins! Hike/Run start at base of Ben Horn
- 10:45am – Bike start at Golspie Seafront Centre
- All day/open to public – BBQ & refreshments, raffle
- 2pm – Prizegiving – Bike/Run
- 4:30pm – Prizegiving – Hike
Registration is from 8am onwards Saturday 1st June at Golspie Seafront Centre. There is a route briefing at 10am and the challenge begins at 10:30am for Hike/Run and 10:45am for Bike
Yes, you will need to register in advance of the day through our registration form which can be accessed through the ‘Enter Now’ button further up the page.
Golspie 3 Peaks Challenge begins at 10:30am at the base of Ben Horn for hikers and runners. For bikers the challenge begins at 10:45am at Golspie Seafront Centre.
There is no cut off time for finishing, but our race marshalls around the course will take a decision on the day if there are exceptional circumstances.
We will transport all hikers and runners to the base of Ben Horn after registration at the Seafront Centre. Cyclists start from the Seafront centre.
To confirm your bus place select ‘Yes’ to transport during the registration form.
Please note we are not able to transport dogs.
You are more than welcome to enter as a group and we have a prize category for the fastest overall group.
Absolutely, Golspie 3 Peaks is very family friendly and we enjoy having families enter. Children do need to be accompanied by an adult.
You are welcome to take your dog with you providing you keep it on the lead at all times. We are unable to offer transport for dogs to the start line so please arrange your own transport if this is the case.
For 2024 we have our biggest prize categories yet! We will be awarding 25 trophies in total in the following categories:
- Fastest Hiker – Male and Female categories – 1st, 2nd & 3rd place trophies
- Fastest Runner – Male and Female categories – 1st, 2nd & 3rd place trophies
- Fastest Bike & Hike – Male and Female categories – 1st, 2nd & 3rd place trophies
- Fastest Group – Hike – 1st, 2nd & 3rd place trophies
- Fastest Group – Run – 1st place trophy
- Fastest Junior – Joint category – 1st, 2nd & 3rd place trophies
This year we are awarding all Challenge finishers with a medal for completing the course! As a way to celebrate your achievement and to have a great souvenir to take home.
Yes, the Golspie 3 Peaks Challenge course is well marked out by way markers and we have race marshalls stationed at major junctions along the route.
Yes, we would advise that you take the following with you on the day:
- Food and water
- Suitable outdoor footwear and clothing
- Waterproofs
- A small first aid kit in case of blisters or cuts
- Suncream and sunglasses if it’s sunny
- Hat and gloves if it’s chilly
- Small rucksack to carry everything in
Yes, you are welcome to use an e-bike for the challenge. You will not be eligible for a prize category so please inform us in advance or on the day at registration.
